Joel M. Gonzales

Joel M. Gonzales was born and raised in Los Angeles California; growing up in the inner-city community of Watts. He has worked on various studio and independent films where he made it a point to learn and absorb all he could, from anyone willing to share their skills and knowledge.This allowed him to move up fast in the ranks as a producer of his own films and for-hire. In 2006, he formed Think Dreamer Productions with his first feature “Followed Home” being produced on a 3k budget, it can be found on many digital platforms and box retailers still today as a great example of “no-budget” filmmaking. His second produced feature “Exorcist: Prayers in the Dark”, also available on many digital platform, was produced for less than 20K with its film rights optioned to be re-developed as a trilogy of films as well as a comic book. After honing his skills further and producing many films for-hire on a micro-budget level, Joel later formed Action Faith Media, a production company dedicated to producing content closer to his heart and faith. His first film “Crave: The Fast Life”, a faith-crossover film set in the Los Angels nightlife has won over (22) awards world-wide, it will be released in June 2018. Other 2018 Action Faith Media releases include “Riding Faith” starring John Schneider and T.C. Stallings and “The Pastor”, which he produced with the Executive Producer of the “God’s Not Dead” mega hits, Troy Duhon. The film stars Kevin Sorbo and T.C. Stallings. He is in development on his next slate of films: “My Brother’s Keeper”, “Can You Hear Me?”, “That Latino Film” and “The Mustang Miracle” which has acclaimed writer, director and producer Chris Weitz attached to Executive Produce. Joel’s career also includes producing some of the highest-ranking music videos for Sony Latin and he serves as the President of Nosotros, the oldest Latino Arts Advocacy non-profit founded by the great Ricardo Montalb├ín in 1970. In the spirit of indie-film, Joel serves on the board of the International Christian Film Festival in Orlando, is a key mentor for the L.A. Film Connection program, and is the founder of the “The Power of the Network” a speaker & industry mixer that takes place in Los Angeles bi-monthly. Joel resides in a small community minutes outside of Hollywood with his wife, (4) children and their Blue Nose Pit-Bull Koby.
